COPPA Compliance Notice
Effective Date: July 16, 2026
The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") gives parents control over the information that websites and online services may collect from children under the age of thirteen. HustleBoard is designed for families and is intended to be set up and supervised by a parent or legal guardian. This Notice explains, in plain language, what information we collect about children, how we use it, and what rights you have as a parent.
By creating a child profile on HustleBoard you confirm that you are that child's parent or legal guardian and that you consent to the practices described in this Notice.
When you create a child profile we collect the child's first name (or a nickname you choose), age, and an avatar selection. We do not require last names, school information, addresses, or phone numbers for child profiles.
As your child uses the Service we collect activity records tied to their profile, including missions assigned, mission completion status, photo proof submitted (if enabled by the parent), XP and rank, streaks, vault balances, and savings history.
A parent may optionally enable a profile photo for a child. The parent must turn this on; it is disabled by default. Photo proof images submitted with completed missions are visible only to the parent account and authorized village members.
When a child uses the Service we automatically collect limited technical information (such as device type, browser, and timestamps) needed to operate the Service. We do not use this information for behavioral advertising or to build a profile of the child outside the Service.
We obtain verifiable parental consent through the account creation process. Only a verified adult parent account may create or manage child profiles. Children cannot independently register, and they cannot enable optional features (such as profile photo uploads) without explicit action by the parent in the parent dashboard.
We use information collected about children only to:
We do not use children's information for marketing, advertising, profiling, or any purpose outside the Service.
We do not sell, rent, or trade children's personal information. We share it only with vendors that help us operate the Service (for example our database and email providers), with members of the child's family or village whom the parent has authorized, and as required by law or to protect the rights and safety of the child or others. Our vendors are contractually obligated to protect children's information and to use it only to provide services to us.
You may review all information associated with your child's profile at any time from your parent dashboard.
You may edit your child's profile information (name, age, avatar, photo) directly in the parent dashboard.
You may delete a child profile at any time. Deleting the profile removes the child's profile information and activity records within thirty (30) days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records.
You may at any time refuse further collection or use of your child's information by deleting the child profile or closing the family account.
To exercise any of these rights or to ask questions about your child's information, contact us at support@hustleboard.tech.
We use the same security safeguards for children's information that we use for all user information, including encryption in transit, row-level security at the database, restricted personnel access, and routine review of our practices. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat children's information as one of our highest priorities.
We retain a child's profile and activity information for as long as the parent account is active and the child profile is enabled. When a child profile is deleted, or the family account is closed, we delete or anonymize the child's personal information within thirty (30) days, except where retention is required by law.
HustleBoard does not display third-party advertising, does not send marketing emails to children, and does not use children's information to build advertising profiles. Communications about the Service are sent to the parent account, not to children.
We may update this Children's Privacy Notice from time to time. If we make material changes that affect what information we collect from children or how we use it, we will notify the parent account holder by email and (where required by law) obtain renewed parental consent before the changes take effect.
COPPA is enforced by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission. If you have a concern about how a service handles your child's information, you may contact the FTC:
